Dr Sharad Ratnarajah graduated with the degree MB, BCh, BAO, LRCPSIre at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Dublin. He went on to obtain a Master in Reproductive Endocrinology /Fertility from the MRC Centre for Reproductive Biology of the University of Edinburgh and the Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologist in London (MRCOG), United Kingdom in 2003. Dr Sharad’s professional experience as an Obstetricians and Gynaecologist began in 1996 when he worked as a trainee in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the renowned and reputable Simpson’s Memorial Maternity Hospital of the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland. He subsequently had further training as a Specialist Registrar in the London Deanery in various hospitals in and around London, England and in the KK Women’s and Children Hospital in Singapore. Dr Sharad has a special interest in Reproductive Endocrinology and Fertility including Male infertility, and Reproductive Health in general and is competent in the clinical management of commonly encountered problems relating in Obstetrics to pregnancy, labour and childbirth. In addition, he is well versed with the medical and surgical treatments in general gynaecology, women’s health and sexual health. Dr Sharad has past experiences in medical education having been a senior lecturer at the RCSI/UCD Penang campus and in pharmaceutical research where he was a medical advisor for PPD,  a clinical research organization in Cambridge, England.


Since 2009, I have been involved in teaching Problem Based Learning to Year 1 and Year 2 medical students and supervising Year 5 research projects.
