Biography

Dr Shane Pritchard was appointed as Adjunct Lecturer, Physiotherapy, at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia in July 2021. Shane has previously worked as Lecturer (Physiotherapy) and Teaching Associate (Physiotherapy) in the School of Primary and Allied Health Care since 2017.

Shane is an experienced health professions educator and researcher, with expertise in simulation-based education. His PhD investigated innovative simulation-based education approaches for physiotherapy students. He currently serves as Network Lead of the Pedagogical Effectiveness research network of the Monash Centre for Scholarship in Health Education. 

Shane works clinically as a Physiotherapist at Advance Healthcare Dandenong. In this role, Shane is primarily involved with providing multidisciplinary Network Pain Management Program services for clients with complex chronic pain. He has clinical expertise in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and particular interests in work-related injuries, assessment, and occupational rehabilitation. Shane has previously worked in metropolitan, regional and remote areas across Victoria and in the Northern Territory. He is pursuing further qualifications in Pain and Occupational Health physiotherapy. 

Shane is also Director of an organisation that supports international physiotherapists seeking registration in Australia, and Secretary of the Victorian branch of the Australian Physiotherapy Association Educators committee.
