Biography

Mr Scott Ferris has extensive experience across the breadth of reconstructive plastic surgery which he undertakes in both private and public practice settings. His medical, general surgical and advanced plastic surgical training was based in Melbourne Australia. He continues to travel internationally for his own ongoing education, as well as to lecture in his areas of expertise.

Mr Ferris’ clinical work commonly involves treatment of tumours or the consequences of trauma. The microvascular aspects of plastic surgery feature heavily, including brachial plexus surgery, head and neck cancer surgery, lower limb reconstruction and breast reconstruction. Additionally he undertakes extensive and advanced skin cancer surgery and elective and traumatic hand surgery.

Mr. Ferris is the Deputy Director of Plastic Surgery at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, as well as Director of the Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit in East Melbourne. He is also the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons appointed Supervisor of Training for accredited registrars undergoing advanced training in plastic surgery at The Alfred Hospital. He is the author of numerous peer reviewed scientific papers and book chapters, and editor and reviewer for multiple surgical journals.
