Biography

Dr Satish Melwani is a Research Fellow at SPHERE NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence at Monash University. He is a public health researcher with a keen interest and experience in women’s health, maternal and child health, health literacy, noncommunicable disease prevention, digital health and health system strengthening. He is enthusiastic about influencing health policies and programs through a health literacy approach to ensure no one is left behind and has worked around the same with the World Health Organisation HQ in Geneva. He completed his PhD from the University of Tasmania in April 2024, focusing on codesigning health literacy solutions with pregnant women and mothers in Tasmania to reduce the intergenerational impact of noncommunicable diseases. Additionally, he holds a Masters in Public Health from Deakin University, Melbourne and a Bachelors in Dental Surgery from India.
