Biography

Dr. Sanyal's research aims to understand the microbial influence on global biogeochemical cycles, with a special interest in microbe-mineral interaction. Dr. Santonu K Sanyal obtained his Ph.D. in Environmental Microbiology from the School of Biological Sciences, The University of Adelaide. His Ph.D. project was entitled 'Analyzing Microbial Diversity on Metal Rich (especially Gold) Environments'. Dr. Sanyal received the Dean's commendation for his doctoral thesis and he was also a recipient of the prestigious ASI Scholarship for his doctoral research. He also obtained a B.S (Hon’s) degree in Microbiology with Deans Award (2012) and M.S (2014) in Microbiology from The University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
