Biography

Dr Samantha Lewis is a Research Fellow in the School of Psychological Sciences at Monash University. Her research focuses on improving outcomes for children with disability or developmental challenges through inclusive, evidence-based approaches. Samantha’s PhD investigated a brief telehealth intervention for autistic children with moderate to severe sleep difficulties. Since 2018, she has collaborated with multidisciplinary teams across projects that support children with disability or neurodevelopmental conditions. Specifically, since 2021, she has contributed to the AllPlay Dance program, which promotes access and inclusion in dance for children of all abilities. Samantha is particularly interested in using a targeted approach to design a program of research that begins with community-partnered exploration, centering lived experience, and supporting preventive approaches to commonly co-occurring conditions in neurodevelopment.
