Biography
Sadia Saleem has more than 17 years of teaching and research experience and a passion in the field of clinical psychology. As an accomplished educator with a PhD in the field of Clinical Psychology, Sadia has had the privilege of teaching at rebound institutions of Pakistan. She has worked in both government as well as in private sector, where I have honed my skills in curriculum development, teaching and assessment. Her expertise in clinical psychology allowed her to design innovative and state of the art courses in that encourage student engagement, self-study and critical thinking. Her teaching philosophy is to create a welcoming and supportive class ecology where students are considered as an active recipient of knowledge and training.
Sadia has the opportunity to complete her two post-doctoral fellowships. Her first post-doctorate was through Fulbright scholarship at the Department of Psychology, George Mason University, Fairfax, VA in 2018 and undertaken a cross-cultural research on family cohesion, interpersonal factors and mental health functioning in US and Pakistani university students. Her second post-doctoral fellowship at the Department of Psychology, Philipps-University Marburg, Germany with the main focus was teach two courses related to the children and adolescent’s mental health using evidence-based treatment strategies and currently working on a cross-cultural comparison of mental health problems of children in Pakistan and Germany.
Sadia Saleem has more than 17 years of teaching and research experience to MS and PhD levels with more than 100 peer-reviewed articles. Her main contribution to the field of psychology is to develop new state of the art programs including BS Clinical Psychology, MS Clinical Psychology, MS Counselling Psychology, MS Clinical Health Psychology and D.Clin Psyche. Her teaching interests lie in quantitative research methods, cross-cultural psychology, ethical and professional issues and child and adolescents mental health.
She has extensively involved in clinical and research supervision both at MS and doctoral level. Her main research interests lie in school psychology, family dynamics, attachment, parenting, trauma and PTSD and developed several indigenous assessment procedures for assessment of mental health functioing.
Sadia has a substantial experience of carrying out administrative responsibilities. While serving as a senior faculty member for 15 years, I have performed a range of responsibilities such as overseeing the meetings of institutional academic council, reviewing and revising institutional policies, mentoring new faculty, overseeing the development of faculty.
