Biography

Dr. Rushmila Binte Rafique is a Lecturer at Monash University Malaysia’s School of Business, specializing in Business Law and Taxation. She holds a PhD in Law and a Master’s in International Business and Trade Law from Taylor’s University Malaysia, complemented by an LLB from the University of London.

Prior to joining Monash, Dr. Rafique taught at Taylor’s University Malaysia and has actively contributed to interdisciplinary research with organizations including the Centre for Human Rights Research & Advocacy (CENTHRA), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia, and UNICEF Malaysia. As a Research Associate for Tech Global Institute (TGI), she worked on projects empowering underserved communities in digital rights and technology governance.

Dr. Rafique serves on working group committees for projects funded by the Legal Affairs Division of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Department (BHEUU) and the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (under the FRGS Grant Scheme). Her research areas are commercial law, business law, and public international law.
