Biography

Associate Professor Ross Hyams, B.A., LL.B, LL.M is a practising solicitor and Law Faculty Director of Work Integrated Learning at Monash University. He worked in private practice as a solicitor in a commercial legal firm from 1987 until 1990.

He has taught in the Faculty of Law clinical program since 1990. He was the Coordinator of the Monash-Oakleigh Legal Service from 1990 to 2000 and then, from 2001 to 2005, Director of the Springvale Monash Legal Service. In 2004 he was awarded the Law Institute of Victoria President's Inaugural Community Lawyers' Award in recognition of outstanding contributions made within the legal profession and beyond.

He is the co-author of Non-Adversarial Justice (with King M, Freiberg A and Batagol B), The Federation Press (2009) and Practical Legal Skills published by Oxford University Press (2007) and co-authored with Campbell S and Evans A.
