Biography

As Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University, and Deputy Director of Neurology for Alfred Health, Richard Stark has helped to change the way patients with headaches are treated. From 2005 - 2022, he was an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Monash University, and prior to this he was a sessional Neurologist at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute up until 2015.

Professor Stark has held major leadership positions in the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists, supporting the training of the next generation. He continues to hold major leadership in the World Federation of Neurologists, where he’s helping to improve neurology across the world, including many countries in Africa. This includes sharing of knowledge and supporting young neurologists’ training. Professor Stark is also President Elect of the Australian & New Zealand Headache Association.
