Biography

Richard Gerraty is a stroke specialist and neurologist with an interest in the stroke risk of medical procedures. His recent research relates to vestibular medicine and particularly acute vertigo and its assessment with video-oculographhy. He is based at Epworth Hospital where he was the foundation professor of medicine and maintains an inpatient and outpatient neurology practice. He is most active in stroke medicine now through the Victorian Stroke Telemedicine network. He is a member of the VST Medical Working Group and of the Department of Health's Safer Care Victoria Stroke Clinical Network Reperfusion Monitoring Committee.

He is on the board of the Brain Foundation, Victoria, and on the Council of the Australian and New Zealand Association of Neurologists. He is Editor in Chief of BMJ Open Neurology. He is a member of the Alfred Health Human Research Ethics Committee and its Research Review Committee.
