Reyhaneh has a Ph.D. (Gender Studies) from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). Upon graduating with her Ph.D., she worked as a Teaching Fellow at USM for two years (2017-2019). In October 2022, she joined the School of Arts and Social Sciences (SASS) at Monash University Malaysia (MUM). Prior to joining the MUM, she worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow on abortion law and women’s rights at the National Institute for Population Research (IRAN). She has led and worked on projects on sexual and reproductive health and rights, Social determinants of health, masculinity, men's health behaviors, violence against women, and family- related issues in Iran and Malaysia. Currently, as an Eleos Justice postdoctoral research fellow, she is contributing to the research on death penalty from gender and health perspective. Her research includes gender attitudes towards the death penalty with a particular focus on women on death row and women as co-victims of death penalty, as well as the impact of the death penalty on family members.
