Biography

Mr Peter Evans is a specialist in the area of Liver, Pancreatic and Biliary Surgery and laparoscopic upper abdominal surgery. After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and his General Surgery training at the Alfred Hospital, he undertook further training and completed the fellowship in HPB surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA. He has a Graduate certificate in Clinical Research Methods and a Master of Public Health from Monash University.

Mr Evans is the Director of Surgery at Peninsula Health and Head of the Upper GI & HPB Surgical Unit. He is the Curriculum and Assessment Lead for Surgery and a Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Monash University. He is involved in undergraduate & postgraduate teaching and research. He is an instructor at the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.

Mr Evans is a member of the Australia & New Zealand HPB Association, the Australasian Gastro-Intestinal Trials Group and the International HPB Association. He is a reviewer for the Victorian Audit of Surgical Mortality and the Australia & New Zealand Journal of Surgery.
