Biography

Dr. Narendra has extensive experience in teaching and research as an Assistant Professor at various medical schools. Dr. Narendra has taught clinically oriented anatomy to MBBS, BDS, Allied Health, Biomedical, and Nursing students. Since 2019, Dr Narendra has been the anatomy lead at JCSMHS, MUM. His anatomy teaching methods and resources created (Discovering Anatomy: A Visual Tour Through the Human Body) in Monash Anatomy and Pathology E-Learning (MAPEL) lab are very popular among students and he has contributed to the development of MAPEL over the years. Dr Narendra consistently ranked under the ‘Best teachers’ category and secured outstanding 'Students Evaluation of Teaching Units' (SETU: 4.95 out of 5) in JSCMHS, Monash University Malaysia. His educational research focuses on 'Anatomy education' & 'Peer mentoring', and he has gained international recognition for training early years and clinical year students in publishing in Q1 educational journals. 

Dr Narendra has been recognized for his exceptional academic performance as an undergraduate with the Topper Award and merit Certificate. His passion for medical education and research has been honoured with the 'Annual Best audio-visual Award' the "Best Presenter Award" the "Pro-Vice-Chancellor Award for Excellence in Education" (Individual category), "Pro-Vice-Chancellor Award for Excellence in Educational Leadership" (Individual category), Commendation, JCSMHS GR Publication, ITEX Gold Medal. He serves as an external examiner for several medical schools. He has been a keynote, invited & guest speaker at educational and research events, and conferences. 

Dr Narendra has published over 65 peer-reviewed research papers, and case series. His main biomedical research focus is ‘therapeutic strategies for diabetes-related cognitive impairment'. Dr Narendra has successfully obtained internal and external research funding (ECR, GA 21, Education Excellence, Learning & Teaching, FRGS etc..). He has completed the supervision of doctoral candidates in Monash (Main supervisor) and his students have won first place in several competitions. Dr Narendra also mentors graduates, postdocs, and young faculty at the American Association of Anatomy network.
