Pam Harvey graduated as a physiotherapist in 1987. Her PhD investigated the representation of adolescent illness narratives in fiction.

Pam works at Monash Rural Health Bendigo as a lecturer, medical educational researcher and program developer; and produces resources for clinical educators that are available through the Monash website. She is the simulated patient program co-ordinator for the Monash Rural Health Bendigo, recruiting and training simulated patients for other local health services as well.
