Biography

Dr. Nur Syazwani Mazlan joined the Department of Econometrics and Business Statistics at Monash University Malaysia in July 2024. Prior to that, she was with the School of Business and Economics, Universiti Putra Malaysia for nine years since 2015.

  • Ph.D. (Thesis title: A Study of the Dynamics of Structural Breaks Analysis in Real-Time), University of Bristol, United Kingdom (2015)

Dr. Nur Syazwani has produced and published numerous papers in academic journals, conference proceedings, and book chapters related to her research interests. In 2018, she copyrighted a teaching module titled "Econometric Modelling by Using Stata," which she uses extensively in training and workshops for students and non-students.

She has completed research projects worth over RM 1 million cumulatively in multidisciplinary areas. These projects were sponsored by national and international agencies, including the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) for the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme (FRGS) and Long-Term Research Grant Scheme (LRGS), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pekerja (KWSP) for industrial grants, and others.

Dr. Nur Syazwani has also served as a consultant to various agencies such as Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Kumpulan Wang Amanah Pekerja (KWAP), and the Ministry of Health. Her quantitative skills have significantly contributed to evidence-informed decisions and policy development. She has actively participated in numerous faculty, university, and national committees.
