Biography

Completed Undergraduate training at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Moved to Melbourne to complete a PhD with Professor K. H. Andy Choo on DNA Methyation in Neocentromeres. Post doctoral training was in the lab of A. Prof Jeff Craig and A. Prof Richard Saffery working on DNA methylation profiling of paediatric leukaemia. Projects then led to adult tumour streams including Breast, Head and Neck and Colorectal. Took a career change and moved into commerical research and development for Pacific Edge Limited.

Through this journey, bioinformatic skills were recognised as a valuable skill and a dialogue across disparte disciplines of biology, computer science and mathmatics converging towards bioinformatics and computational biology was mastered.

Published over 20 peer-reviewed articles and numours book chapters in the area of Epigenetics and biomarker discovery to date. Funded previously by NHMRC as CI and the Leukaemia Foundation of Australia.

Research interests include epigenetics, DNA methylation, genomics, bioinformatics and cancer.
