Biography

Mosarof Hossain focused on developing two-dimensional (2D) transition-metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) materials-based field-effect transistor (FET) sensors for biosensing applications. Utilising world-class cutting-edge nanotechnology facilities at the Melbourne Centre for Nanofabrication and RMIT Micro Nano Research Facility, he synthesised 2D TMDC materials. He fabricated and characterised FET sensors for biosensing applications.
After Completing his PhD, he joined Alfred Health (Monash-Alfred program) as a research officer to develop and improve electrochemical sensor performance for point-of-care (POC) applications. Here, he designed and fabricated industrial-scale electrochemical sensors, improving their sensitivity, specificity, usability, and cost-effectiveness.
Currently, he is working on developing a POC device platform by producing low-cost electrochemical sensors on a large scale for determining and monitoring the stage of dementia, including Alzheimer's Disease and Neurological disorders.
