Mohammad Asghari Jafarabdi has a strong passion for researching statistical modelling. These studies were highly successful and served as the basis for a major paper on the optimality of the proposed models over conventional models. He demonstrated a high level of commitment to his research project, generated useful quality data, and worked well with colleagues.
He completed his PhD in Biostatistics (Survival Analysis, Competing Risks, and Frailty) at TMU, Tehran, Iran. During the PhD program, he excelled at both the coursework and the research work and ultimately won the top PhD student award at TMU. During this period, the outstanding results were published as seven papers in national and international journals. He was subsequently employed as a lecturer in Biostatistics at one of the most prestigious universities in Iran (TBZMED). His in-depth expertise in statistical models has honed his excellent skills to apply different statistical models, including SEM, PLS, LCA, Hybrid ANN-SEM, and DLNN, to model various types of health and biomedical data in new settings.
Mohammad was promoted to Associate Professor in 2014 and Professor in 2019. He designed innovative research projects to study the established statistical techniques in health and biomedical data settings resulting in more than 800 papers. Remarkably, he won the 1% top-rank scientists and highly cited researcher award based on Essential Science Indicator (ESI) in March 2020.
Mohammad has also been asked to serve as an editor and a referee/reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals (PONE, HPP, RDME, JARCM, IJPH, and JRMS). During his casework in TBZMED, he ran workshops on the statistical modelling in health and biomedical fields by mainstream statistical software.
Mohammad is a member of Examination Board of the Ministry of Health and Education of Iran, and the Dean of the Biostatistics Department and the Research deputy of faculty of health sciences.
