Biography

Dr. Mogana is a data scientist with a passion for solving problems using big data analytical techniques, including machine learning, deep learning, data mining, statistics, database development and management, and web UI/UX, employing Python, R, MySQL, HTML, and PHP. Her expertise lies in health informatics, where she seeks to uncover knowledge on disease-based prognosis, diagnosis, and treatment benefits using machine learning algorithms.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics with Distinction from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2018 and completed a fast-track PhD program in Data Science by February 2021. Currently, she is a lecturer at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia, teaching Business Analytics. Her research also focuses on data literacy, visualizations, and predictive analytics in the business domain.

Dr. Mogana has internal collaboration with researchers from local and international universities and external engagement and research collaboration with Cambridge University, UK, Universitas Indonesia, Jakarta, and Homi Baba Cancer Hospital, India. She has actively published peer-reviewed research articles in her field over the years.

After her PhD, Dr. Mogana joined the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) as a data scientist to implement her research outcomes and pipelines in healthcare. She is a HRDF certified trainer, having trained over 1000 participants in machine learning, big data analytics, business intelligence, Python, and R programming. Dr. Mogana's interest in data science inspires her to continually acquire new skills and knowledge in state-of-the-art technologies.
