Biography

Dr. Mogana is a data scientist with ideas to solve problems using big data analytical techniques namely machine learning, deep learning, data mining, statistics, database development and management, web UI/UX by implementing Python, R, MySQL, HTML and PHP. Her field of expertise is on health informatics to discover knowledge on disease-based prognosis, diagnosis and treatment benefits using machine learning algorithms. She was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Bioinformatics with Distinction from Universiti Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2018. She then enrolled into a fast-track PhD program in Data Science in 2018 and completed her candidature in February 2021. During her candidature, she worked as a research assistant and guest lecturer in the School of Data Sciences, Perdana University, Kuala Lumpur. She was then employed as a data scientist at the University Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC) to implement her research outcomes and pipelines in healthcare upon completing her PhD. Dr. Mogana is also a HRDF certified trainer and had trained over 200 participants in the field of data science especially machine learning, big data analytics, business intelligence, Python and R programming. She then explored her interest in teaching by joining as a data scientist and trainer in the Centre of Applied Data Science (CADS), Kuala Lumpur. Her interest in data science inspires herself to continually acquire new skills and knowledge in the state-of-the-art.
