Biography

Dr. Mirzet Šeho is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business with nearly fifteen years of industry and academic experience. He has held prominent leadership roles, including Head of Financial Controlling at two organizations – one being a high-volume subsidiary of a publicly listed multinational corporation – and Executive Director at a medium-sized group of companies. Additionally, he served as a Product Manager at a startup, where he honed his skills in innovation and product development, further broadening his expertise in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

A multi-award-winning researcher and dedicated educator, Dr. Šeho is passionate about challenging traditional finance practices and shaping the future of the field. At Monash University Malaysia, he has been a pioneer in developing fintech courses that integrate practical insights with academic rigor. Enriched by industry guest speakers, his courses provide students with real-world exposure to cutting-edge financial technologies. His commitment to pedagogy has earned him several teaching excellence recognitions, underscoring his ability to inspire and engage students at both undergraduate and master’s levels.

Dr. Šeho’s thought leadership extends beyond academia. He has been invited to moderate and lead discussions at prominent international forums, highlighting his expertise in digital transformation in banking and advancements in Islamic fintech.
