Biography

Graduating from a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2001 from Griffith University, Michelle has specialised in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, especially the management of critically ill and deteriorating patients, from graduation. After working in QLD and the UK, Michelle returned to Melbourne in 2008 and is currently working at Monash Health as the Advanced Cardiac and Critical Care Physiotherapist and Critical Care and Surgical Services Physiotherapy Clinical Lead. Her PhD, conferred in May 2024, investigated the effect of different applications of exercise in ICU on functional outcomes and recovery, and she is continuing this work as a research fellow with Monash University.
