Dr Michael Pellegrini is a Research Fellow working in the Brain Recovery and Rehabilitation lab who also works as a clinical trial coordinator with Alfred health investigating the role of exercise in reducing falls in stroke populations. He recently completed a PhD through the department of Physiotherapy at Monash University investigating how genetic variants influence changes in cortical excitability following non-invasive brain stimulation of the motor cortex. Michael is also a Physiotherapist who has close to 10-years of experience working with patients with movement disorders and persisting pain conditions. Michael has a strong research interest into the brain-behaviour relationship and investigating new and innovative interventions to promote brain recovery and repair and to optimise brain function.
