Biography
Dr Giummarra is a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University; the Institute of Safety, Compensation and Recovery Research; and Caulfield Pain Management and Research Centre in Australia.
Dr Giummarra is leading a program of research on pain following injury, chronic pain, and the social context of pain and suffering. Since 2013 she has worked in close partnership with the Victorian Transport Accident Commission in studies that are investigating the role of compensation system experience in chronic pain and function following injury. She works with clinical service providers and policy makers in health.
