Research interests
Dr Mei Yee Lee is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business, Monash University Malaysia. Passionate about accounting, she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Honours) from the University of Malaya and later graduated with a PhD (Accounting and Finance) from Monash University. Mei Yee is a professional member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA) and The Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA). Her rich experience in senior financial and management positions in global multinational corporations empowers her to bring industry knowledge and expertise into her teaching.
Departing from the traditional focus of accounting and finance research, Mei Yee's relentless passion pushes her boundaries to expand into corporate governance, taxation, and law reserach. She has published in reputable journals and presented papers at international conferences. Mei Yee has jointly secured and completed two competitive grants of RM115,650 from the Malaysian Tax Research Foundation.
To leverage students’ digital skills, Mei Yee deploys online interactive learning using Accounting Challenge E-learning Modules that provide engaging learning experiences and empower students to learn in their preferred styles and pace. She is dedicated to teaching excellence, as evidenced by her remarkable student evaluations and teaching awards. Mei Yee also collaborates with industry experts regularly to promote career readiness and reward academic excellence.
