Personal profile
Biography
I am a senior lecturer in the department of Electrical and Computer Systems Eng. (ECSE) at Monash University. I am also a contributing research scientist in the Machine Learning Research Group (MLRG) at Data61-CSIRO.
Having broad interests in machine learning, computer vision and signal processing, I develop algorithms and mathematical models to equip our machines with intelligence. Visit my personal webpage to get a a feel for the type of research I do.
My Erdos path reads as Mehrtash Harandi -> Richard Hartley -> Marc Kilgour -> Peter C. Fishburn -> Paul Erdos.
Supervision interests
I always look for motivated and hard-working students who are interested in doing research with me. You can read some of my papers (click here) to get a feel for the type of work that I do. I encourage students to contact me but
You must have good mathematical and computational skills, preferably with prior experience in machine learning and/or computer vision. Strong programming skills in Matlab and Python are also necessary. When contacting me, include a copy of your academic transcripts.
