Biography

Méadhbh is an Adjunct Senior Research Fellow at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health at Monash, and Assistant Professor (Ad Astra Fellow) at the UCD School of Psychology in Dublin, Ireland. Her work uses cognitive neuroscience techniques to understand how interindividual differences in the brain impact cognition. A predominant focus is understanding how environmental enrichment facilitate resilience to cognitive difficulties in healthy ageing, neurodegenerative conditions, and following stroke. Her research has received funding from several international bodies including the European Commission Horizon 2020, Alzheimer’s Research UK, the John Fell Fund Oxford University Press, and Corpus Christi College at the University of Oxford. Prior to her faculty appointment at UCD, she trained at a range of international and national institutions including Maastricht University, Netherlands, Cardiff University, Wales, Trinity College Dublin, Monash University, and the University of Oxford (as a Marie Skłodowska–Curie fellow).
