My primary research interest is a study on the aetiology of Parkinson’s disease. In the elderly, Parkinson’s disease developed due to a pathological decrease in dopamine levels. The decrease in dopamine levels is the result of the loss of dopamine producing neurons within the substantia nigra region of the brain. My intention is to study the molecular pathway for the development of PD so as to identify new possible ways of reducing the risk of developing PD.
