Biography

Dr Matt Carew is a Research Fellow and Teaching Associate working with the Monash Climate Change Communication Research Hub. His doctoral research focused on how climate change communication is being taught in Australian universities.

Currently, he contributes to diverse research projects on climate change communication, including the Tuning In Project in partnership with commercial radio stations and the Climate Communicators project in partnership with Australian weather presenters. He aims to provide impact by equipping trusted messengers with skills and knowledge to effectively communicate climate change to local communities, and to affect positive long-term change in public understanding and policy.

Dr Carew teaches in Monash University’s Climate Change Communication unit (ATS2324), as well as across Flagship Rich Educational Experience units including the Monash Innovation Guarantee (MIG) (MON2750/3750) and the Research, Experimentation and Discovery (RED) (MON2500/3500) in collaboration with the Wonderlab research community at Monash.
