Biography

Mark Rickinson is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Education at Monash University. Mark is an experienced educational researcher, evaluator and facilitator who has particular expertise in: evidence-informed policy and practice; and outdoor and environmental learning.

His real interest lies in understanding and improving the use and usefulness of educational research. He is currently Director of the Monash Q Project, a five-year partnership with the Paul Ramsay Foundation to improve the use of research evidence in Australian schools. 

Mark's work within the Faculty focuses on:

  • developing a program of research and innovation around the use of evidence in educational policy and practice
  • contributing to research and professional learning in the areas of educational leadership and environmental/sustainability learning.  

Mark is keen to hear from prospective research students with an interest in evidence use in educational practice/policy.

Mark is keen to hear from prospective research students with an interest in any aspect of the role and use of research and evidence in educational practice and policy. 

Expressions of interest are particularly welcome from prospective students wishing to undertake research linked to the Monash Q Project - a five-year partnership with the Paul Ramsay Foundation to improve the use of research evidence in Australian schools.
