Biography

Mark Habgood is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Translational Medicine at Monash University. He received his PhD in 1990 from the University of Southampton (UK) and worked as a research scientist in a number of blood-brain barrier laboratories before moving to Melbourne in 2001. Mark's current areas of interest are the development of the blood brain barriers and the extent to which fetuses and neonates are exposed to maternally administered medications. Mark is also a Director of a small research company that has developed ride-on sailing simulators to teach sailing as a physical and social activity accessible for people of all physical abilities and ages.
