Dr Mandy O’Connor (PhD MAPS) is a Developmental Psychologist and Senior Research Fellow at Monash University, School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Health and Social Care Unit (HSCU). She is also a Member of Australian Psychological Society. Dr O'Connor is an expert in Intervention Mapping, Implementation Science, evaluations and program, framework and model development. Her research interests include parenting, parent-child relationships, child development, family violence, disability, and women’s health and wellbeing. 

She developed the Victorian Early Parenting Centres Outcomes Framework for the Victorian Government Department of Health and is leading the implementation of the framework across Victoria, Australia. Dr O’Connor works closely with an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander led primary care organisation, and Victoria’s first Aboriginal-led Early Parenting Centre, to support Aboriginal researchers, practitioners and leaders.

Working as a research-in-residence with HSCU industry partners, embedded in organisations, to ensure bidirectional translation of knowledge and research occurs between researchers and clinicians, practitioners, co-ordinators and managers. Her strength is building relationships with partners and across sectors and disciplines.

Dr O’Connor is a leader within the HSCU Strengthening Implementation Research and Practice with Equity (SEMPRE) program of research. Leading the Advancing Methodology and Advancing Theories bodies of research.

Dr O’Connor is also a lead developer and co-facilitator of the Intervention Mapping - Equity micro credentialed short course that is offered at Monash University – an extensively utilised and internationally recognised program planning, implementation and evaluation methodology.

Dr O'Connor is the course coordinator of Early Parenting Fundamentals and Early Parenting Practice short courses (micro-credentialled). Working in partnership with the Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) to design and deliver courses supporting the professional development of people working with families with young children aged zero to four years.
