Biography
Louisa Lam joined the School of Nursing and Midwifery as a lecturer in March 2011. She has more than 20 years of nursing experience in Hong Kong and Australia. She is specialised in coronary care and has a Masters degree in public health and recently completed a PhD in 2014 titled "Diagnosis and Management of Heart Failure in the Emergency Department".
Prior to joining the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Louisa was working as a project manager at the Australia New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre managing the ARISE-RCT study, a large multi-centre randomised controlled trial of early goal-directed therapy in sepsis (EGDT). Previously, Louisa also worked with the Monash Accident Research Centre and the Pre-Hospital and Trauma Group at the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine at Monash University.
Her research area included observational injury prevention, road trauma studies, perspective randomised, blinded, controlled trials in the area of heart failure as well as intensive care medicine and cross-sectional studies exploring stress, burn-out, depression and level of job satisfaction in nurses.
