Liza is a teaching affiliate and PhD candidate in the Department of Nutrition, Dietetics and Food (Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences) at Monash University. Liza commenced teaching at Monash University in 2010 and continues to teach Public Health Nutrition and Food Sustainability Systems units for BNutSci, BND and MND students. Liza designed one of Australia's first undergraduate units on food sustainability systems for nutrition and dietetics students, which she continues to coordinate.

Liza is an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian (AdvAPD) with over a decade of practical experience in Community Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition prior to her academic role. Liza has worked in the Pilbara and Gascoyne regions of remote Western Australia, Alice Springs, the Kingdom of Tonga and Metropolitan Melbourne.  Liza is a member Dieitians Australia's Food and Environment leadership committee and recently led the development of their first National position paper on Healthy and Sustainable Diets.

Liza's PhD seeks to describe the role of local governments in promoting healthy and environmentally sustainable diet-related practices, and to understand the contextual factors which influence the policy-making proces.
