Biography
Lisa is currently a Lecturer in Health and Physical Education (HPE) in the Faculty of Education at Monash University. In addition to her teaching role, Lisa is an early career researcher.
Lisa has published in top-ranking international journals including Sport, Education and Society, Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy, European Physical Education Review and the Journal of Teaching in Physical Education.
Lisa has been awarded the 2024 Dean’s Award for Citations for Outstanding Contribution to Student Learning (for significant contributions to student learning through influencing, motivating and inspiring students to learn), and the 2023 Vice-Chancellors Education Excellence Award (for community education programs).
Research interests
Lisa’s research focuses on HPE, sport and physical activity contexts where she examines curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment through the lens of equity, inclusion, and transformative teaching practices. She is particularly interested in how HPE can move beyond traditional models to embrace democratic, student-centred approaches that enhance learning, wellbeing, and lifelong engagement in physical activity.
Lisa has expertise in Actor-Network Theory and innovative research methods, including concept analysis and the cartography of controversies, contributing to new ways of examining educational change.
