Biography

Lin Zhang MD, PhD, FRSPH is a PhD Supervisor at The School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine at Monash University and Director of Ethic Committee of Monash University Suzhou Campus. Lin is FELLOW of the Royal Society for Public Health, the Vice President of the Shanghai Alumni Association of the University of Melbourne, a Harvard University Entrepreneur Association consultant and a mentor of the Harvard University Entrepreneur Incubation Center, and the Deputy Secretary-General of the Senior Health Professional Committee of the China Geriatric Health Association.

Lin was awarded the Victorian International Education Award by the Victorian State Government of Australia, Global Outstanding Graduate by the Ministry of Education of China in 2020, and the 2022 Winner of the Award for Research and Science in Australia China Alumni Association. Lin’s research team was also awarded the “2017 Award for Excellence” from the University of Melbourne.

Lin has obtained a Medical Degree (MD) from Anhui Medical University, a Master of Medicine(MMed) and Master of Public Health(MPH) from Peking Union Medical College/Tsinghua University, Master of Public Administration (MPA) from the Chinese Academy of Governance and PhD of Cancer Epidemiology from Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, the University of Melbourne. Lin was a Visiting Research Scientist at Monash University eResearch Centre and Erasmus University Medical Center. With 15 years of experience in clinical medicine, public health, and pharmaceutical research, Lin worked as an Attending Physician at Peking Union Medical College Hospital, a Research Assistant at Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre/PeterMac Cancer Hospital, and a Teaching Assistant for the Master of Public Health students in the University of Melbourne, and Senior Medical Advisor in Sienna Cancer Diagnostics, Senior Research Scientist in Eli Lilly and Company. Lin was the General Manager and Chief Medical Officer of Ningbo Branch of Wondersgroup.

Lin has over 220 publications (H index=35, citation by 4200) in the medical and public health field in international journals, including BMJ, Lancet, Lancet Haematol, Lancet Digital Health, Lancet Rheumatology, Nature Communication, Gastroenterology, Gut, Frontier in Oncology, etc. Published 2 co-authored books (including The Book of OHDSIObservational Health Data Sciences and Informatics), and the co-author of 3 books of clinical practice. Lin is a member of the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) Collaborator Network and served as the Associate Editor of a special topic of Frontiers in Pharmacology; and compiled international publications related to PD-1/PD-L1 in cancer treatment.

Lin is a member of the AAAI of the World Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence, a member of the Smart Medical Professional Committee of the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, a member of the American Clinical Research Professional Association, a member of the Global Burden of Disease Collaborator Network, an honorary member of the American Society of Clinical Chemistry Gallwas, and the American Association of Clinical Pathologists. Member of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology, Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, Chinese Association of Clinical Chemists in North America, Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, Australian Society of Public Health, and other international members.

The main areas of Lin’s work: medical big data research, pre-marketing GCP clinical trials of drugs, post-marketing real-world research, pharmacoeconomics research, patient self-reported outcome studies, application of artificial intelligence in the medical field, participating in the formulation of pre-marketing clinical trials and registration, post-marketing clinical strategy and implementation, generating evidence to support clinical decision-making and reimbursement access.
