Biography

Dr Lauren Notini is a Lecturer and Unit Coordinator within the Monash Bioethics Centre, teaching both undergraduate (within the Faculty of Arts) and postgraduate students (within the Master of Bioethics course).

Prior to this, Dr Notini worked as a Research Assistant at Monash University on the Australian Research Council-funded Discovery project led by Professor Justin Oakley, 'Religion, pluralism and healthcare practice: a philosophical assessment' (DP190101597).

Dr Notini's main areas of research interest include empirical bioethics, clinical ethics, paediatric bioethics, the goals of medicine, and the ethics of new healthcare technologies.

In 2017, Dr Notini completed a 2-year Fellowship in Clinical and Organizational Bioethics at the University of Toronto Joint Centre for Bioethics in Canada. Dr Notini completed her PhD in paediatric bioethics at the University of Melbourne in 2016, and her Master of Bioethics at Monash University in 2012. Prior to this, Dr Notini completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science followed by a Bachelor of Science (Honours) year at the University of Melbourne.
