Biography
Laura Gutierrez-Bucheli is a Research Fellow at the Future Building Initiative, where she focuses on driving innovation in construction through education, sustainability, and productivity.
With a background in both Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (HASS), Laura brings a unique, transdisciplinary perspective to her work. She aims to foster solutions that are not only technologically advanced but also socially, environmentally, and economically sound.
Her research interests centre on developing innovative ways to deliver construction projects, exploring their implications for the workforce and overall productivity. She has extensive experience in applied research, with a focus on Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), Lean construction methodologies, digital-enabled construction management, Building Information Modelling (BIM), construction education and workforce development.
