Born and grew up in Hong Kong in the last century, educated in Hong Kong and England. Worked in Melbourne, Australia for the last 30 years.

Numerical analysis and its applications in general and numerical linear algebra in particular; perturbation and numerical solution of linear and nonlinear eigenvalue problems; inverse eigenvalue problems; algorithms in control theory; algebraic, differential and difference Riccati equations; linear and nonlinear matrix equations; large-scale and structured problems; tensor computations
