Biography
Dr Kate Burns is a criminologist in the School of Social Sciences (Faculty of Arts) at Monash University. Kate undertakes policy-based, industry-focused research around ageing, health and older people; and educational research focusing on higher education teaching and learning. In her teaching, Kate connects education with questions of justice and social change, encouraging critical thinking about how criminal justice systems work and how they might work better. Prior to academia, Kate worked in public policy.
