Personal profile


Karen Yumin ZHANG is a Lecturer in the Department of Accounting at Monash University. Karen joined Monash in 2017 after completing her PhD in accounting at the City University of Hong Kong.  Her research interests relate to Auditing and Financial Accounting, and relevant accounting issue in emerging markets. The foci of her current works have been on political connection in emerging markets, audit quality analysis at individual auditor level, economic and social incentive in auditing, and organization structure.

Karen teaches ACF5903 ‘Accounting for Business’ and ACF5957 'Auditing and Assurance' at the graduate level. Prior to joining Monash, Karen received Teaching Excellence Award at her previous institutions, and a few awards of volunteer work in her spare time.
