Biography

Justin has been an academic in the Department of Paediatrics since 2008. He is a clinician researcher and currently the Curriculum and Assessment Lead for Children's Health for the Monash MD program. He leads the children's health program locally across metropolitan and rural sites in Victoria, Australia as well as internationally in Malaysia. As a member of the Child Health Management Group, the Year 4C Curriculum Management Committee and the Year 4C Assessment Working Group A/Prof Brown continues to make a significant contribution to the Department of Paediatrics and delivery of the year 4c course for the Faculty .

His research interests are in the field of paediatric endocinology with special interests in bone health and childhood obesity. He has interdisciplinary collaborations with the Monash Department of Nutrition and Dietietics and is currently a principal investigator with an NHMMRC funded project with interstate and international collaborators assessing an alternative approach to weight management in obese teenagers with metabolic complications. He also has a colloboration with adult bone health colleagues in delivering studies which bridge the gap between adult and paediatric services.

 

He has 41 publications and has collaborated on two book chapters in his field of research.
