Biography

I am an expert in gene delivery system and chromosome research working in the fields of epigenetics (with Prof. El-Osta, Monash), telomere (with Prof. Andy Choo, MCRI) and viral/non-viral/hybrid vectors (with Dr. Mahito Nakanishi, AIST Japan). Currently I have been involved in investigating the molecular mechanism of "epigenetic memory" in diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. My Circulation Research (2012), Diabetes (2008) papers reporting the role of lysine methyltransferase Set7 in hyperglycaemic memory, and further lead publication in Nucleic Acid Research (2016) demonstrating that Set7 dependent transcriptional networks in embryonic stem cells are highlight. My qualifications include a PhD and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). Based on my background, I have multiple experimental skills including animal work, stem cell culture, viral gene transfer, next-generation sequencing analysis, biochemistry and epigenetics. I have supervised over 10 domestic and international students and also have scientific leadership, coupled with a critical mind, meticulous lab technique and organization.
