Dr. de Castro e Silva is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Epilepsy and Behaviour group, under the supervision of A/Prof Nigel Jones, and additionally in the EpiBioS4Rx multicentre project (Epilepsy Bioinformatics Study for Antiepileptogenic Therapy) at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. She completed her Ph.D. in Neuroscience at The University of Melbourne in 2019 and has been working with clinically relevant murine models of epilepsy as a translational research model for almost 10 years. Her current research focuses on understanding the neurobiological basis for the development of epilepsy following a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and also on neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).
