Personal profile


Jonathan is physiotherapist, researcher, and educator. He is primarily interested in exploring how to make best use of limited healthcare resources to achieve optimal population health. This includes systems and policy change, influencing individual behaviour, and use of economic evaluations.


Jonathan has three key streams of research:

1. Healthy ageing with a focus on malnutrition
2. Reducing low value health care
3. Health workforce training and development

Jonathan is accepting HDR students.


Jonathan is Unit Coordinator for several units in the Doctor of Physiotherapy and Bachelor of Physiotherapy program (PTY3462, PTY5202, PTY5203, PTY5305). His teaching is primarily focused on preparing students for clinical practice. 


Jonathan maintains a small clinical caseload as as a private practice physiotherapist with an interest in musculoskeletal conditions.
