Biography
John has worked as TAFE teacher, and as a Vocational Education and Training (VET) Curriculum and Policy Officer for the Victorian and the Australian governments before coming to Monash. Within the Faculty of Education John teaches in the pre-service and graduate teacher education program, in the Bachelor of Adult Learning and Development and in the Masters of Education program. He completed a research Masters on TAFE Learning and has undertaken doctoral research into social class and applied learning.
John has undertaken research funded by the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) on student pathways between TAFE and University. More recently he has carried out research for the Victorian Department of Education and Early Childhood Development's Higher Education and Skills Group on access and equity.
