        John Chu joined Monash University in August 2016. His current research portfolio has been developing through three umbrellas related to large financial institutions, liquidity of banking and non-banking institutions, and household finance.

        John Chu has publications at The Journal of FinanceThe Review of Financial StudiesJournal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and Management Science. His research papers have won awards, including William F. Sharpe Award, been presented at academic conferences including American Finance Association (AFA) and Western Finance Association (WFA), and been featured in news media including Bloomberg, The Economist, etc. His research proposals have been funded by the Early Career Scheme and The Research Grants Council Hong Kong.

        John Chu is an Australian permanent resident. John received his Ph.D. in Finance from Indiana University Bloomington (IUB) and an M.B.A. from the Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford.
