Personal profile

Jörn works in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Monash University as a Research Fellow. Before joining Monash University, he did his undergraduate and PhD studies at the University of Bielefeld, Germany.

Research interests

His main area of interest lies in the design and analysis of numerical methods for the approximation of stochastic nonlinear partial differential equations.

It is a delicate task to understand the relation between nonlinear or stochastic equations and the regularity of solutions. In general, there is a threshold on what regularity can be expected. This leads to severe difficulties in its approximation. Therefore, robust algorithms (algorithms that only require minor regularity conditions) need to be developed.
