Biography

Dr Jill Murray has degrees in industrial relations and law from Melbourne and Oxford Universities. She completed her Doctorate of Philosophy in Law at Oxford University; her thesis compared the roles of the International Labour Organisation and the European Union in creating and promulgating transnational labour law. She has worked as an academic, researcher and consultant in labour law and international labour law since 2000.  Dr Murray has published widely on the legal regulation of working time, labour standards in Australian and international law, and work/life issues. She has appeared as an expert witness before the Australian Industrial Relations Commission and the Fair Work Commission, and in 2020 was appointed the Chairperson of a Panel of Experts determining a dispute relating to the labour clause in the European Union/Korea Free Trade Agreement.
