Biography

Jessica Woolley is a Research Fellow at the Monash Gender and Family Violence Prevention Centre. Completed in 2025, Jess’ PhD examined how the Victorian justice system responds to technology-facilitated domestic violence through family violence intervention orders. Jess is a socio-legal researcher, with research interests relating to gendered violence and its regulation, technology-facilitated abuse, and the intersection between mental health and family violence. In 2024, Jess was the recipient of the Australia and New Zealand Society of Criminology PhD Candidate award for the best paper written by a PhD candidate for her journal article on the policing of family violence perpetrator suicide threats.
